Verto Barossa Shiraz
Wine
Massena Verto Barossa Shiraz is sourced from a selection of old vines across the Barossa and Eden Valleys, grown between 290 and 380 metres above sea level.
The fruit is handpicked in the cool of the morning and left to slowly begin fermentation under a layer of inert gas. Some stalks and whole berries are included in the ferment, which receives daily hand plunging over several weeks.
The free run juice is drained and the skins are slowly basket pressed overnight. Select parcels are transferred to ceramic eggs while others mature in new and seasoned French oak. After 20 months, the parcels are racked to tank prior to bottling.
Deep dark red, Massena Verto Shiraz is a wine of density and intensity, balanced by silky tannins and a fine acid line. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
